Rehabilitation Services
Inpatient Rehabilitation
Your Treatment Team
You and your family are the center of our rehabilitation team. Your active participation is the key to your recovery. Other team members may include:
A physiatrist, a physician specializing in rehabilitation, will lead your rehabilitation team.
A physical therapist who is specially trained to help you reach your highest level of independent mobility and function while reducing as much pain as possible.
An occupational therapist to help you to become independent in your normal daily routine.
A speech pathologist who can help you improve your communication skills, memory, problem solving, judgment, attention skills or your ability to safely swallow foods and liquids.
A therapeutic recreation specialist to help you develop new leisure skills or adapt old skills so you can continue previous leisure interests.
A rehabilitation psychologist who will evaluate and treat psychological problems relating to your disability.
Rehabilitation nurses to provide the care and compassionate attention you require. They work closely with the doctors and therapists to teach and support newly learned skills. They will also teach you and your family any nursing care that may be needed when you go home.
A case manager to coordinate the delivery of all the different services for you and your family. The case manager provides the communication link between you, your family and the rehabilitation team, while also serving as a patient advocate.
A dietitian to make sure your nutritional needs are met. The dietitian is also responsible for special diets and teaching dietary instructions to you and your family.
Spiritual care is provided to you and your family. The spiritual care team provides daily liturgy and sacraments. Our spiritual care team is available at all times, and services are offered in the hospital chapel.
